Be warned – one visit to scenic yet bustling Cookeville and Putnam County might have you sending home for the rest of your things. Should that happen, here are some folks who can help you get settled in, or give you more information on making the region your home.



Whether you are traveling by automobile, bus or plane, visiting Cookeville is easy. Located at the intersection of I-40 and Highway 111, Cookeville is only 79 miles east of Nashville and 101 miles west of Knoxville.

We are readily accessible by four interstate systems -- I-40 from Nashville or Knoxville, I-24 from Chattanooga via Nashville, I-65 via Nashville, and I-75 via Knoxville. And three commercial airports serve the area -- Nashville International, Knoxville McGhee Tyson and Chattanooga Metropolitan airports. And Upper Cumberland Regional Airport is just 10 miles south off state Hwy. 111.

Traveling on Interstate 40, take exit 286, 287, 288 or 290. Our new welcome center is located off exit 287. Take S. Jefferson Avenue north one block and turn right on Neal Street. The welcome center is at 470-A Neal Street, Cookeville TN 38501.
